"To Ralph the Sienese air was not only breathable but intoxicating. The sun, treading the earth like a vinegar, drew from its heady fragrances, crushed out of it new colours? Ralph said to himself that no one who had not seen Italy thus prostrate beneath the sun knew what secret treasures she could yield."
From "The Custom of the Country" by Edith Wharton, 1862-1937
Stranieri or foreigners have been visiting Italy for centuries. Many of the great poets and English writers of the the nineteenth century such as Byron, Shelley, Keats and Browning all lived and wrote for some period of their lives in Italy, often keeping diaries of their travelogues and impressions.
What most travellers in this country have in common is their love of the landscape, the customs, the language and the food. Each region of Italy has a different flavour in terms of the above. Which is your flavour? Do you prefer the mountains or the large cities, the rugged coastal cliff or the small country villages? You decide and we will take you to the region in which you wish to travel!!
There are many different types of accommodation available in Italy, locandas, casa per vacanza, residenza, affitacamera, agritourismo and of course all the traditional - they vary enormously.

The important thing when booking accommodation is location, location and of course price!! However one must remember that, in places like Rome,(no cars allowed in before 6p.m.) Florence and Venice, where it is difficult and costly to get car parking, make sure your hotel is close by to public transport.
If your time is limited in the city, it is worth the extra dollars to stay in the city center to save travelling time, in and out of the city.
